Chapter 674: Extra 087 – The name of the baby, his whole world (One more)
Mu Cidian left the Rooftop Garden.
Lei Qian followed him out.
She looked at Mu Cidian’s retreating figure and said softly, “Cidian, can I see your child?”
Mu Cidian paused, then turned back and said, “It’s not appropriate.”
“I just want to see what your baby looks like?” Lei Qian smiled faintly.
“I appreciate your thoughtfulness.” Mu Cidian still refused.
Lei Qian was a bit disappointed but still managed a smile, “You must be considering Xin Zaozao. Indeed, our identities will indeed cause her some unfavorable impacts.”
Mu Cidian didn’t respond.
Lei Qian spoke again, “I’m really envious of Xin Zaozao.”
“You should go home early. If there’s any news, I’ll call you.”
“Okay.” Lei Qian gave another smile.
She forced herself to smile.
She said, “Thank you.”
Mu Cidian nodded slightly, still appearing rather indifferent.
He then turned and walked away.
Lei Qian watched him walk away, his figure growing smaller and smaller.
She really couldn’t bear it.
She really couldn’t stand it! Why, despite all the outrageous things Xin Zaozao did, was Mu Cidian still returning to her just because of a child?
Is it just because of a child?!
If it weren’t for that child, she would probably be doing well with Mu Cidian by now.
Perhaps.
She might even be carrying Mu Cidian’s child by now.
She gritted her teeth and stormed off!
...
Mu Cidian returned to the hospital ward.
Just as he prepared to enter, he heard some commotion inside.
He stood at the door, watching Yin Qin and the others coming inside.
Mu Cidian stopped at the door.
In the ward, Yin Qin’s voice was a bit louder, “Xin Zaozao, how could you secretly give birth to your baby? If I hadn’t run into Song Lifei yesterday, I wouldn’t have known you had a baby, let alone that you’d given birth to such a fascinating little princess. My mother insisted on coming here when she found out you had a daughter.”
“What the heck are you talking about!” Qin Keqin smacked Yin Qin on the head.
“Ah!” Yin Qin covered his head, looking rather upset.
Xin Zaozao chuckled quietly.
“That’s the truth! You’ve always wanted a daughter. Among all our children, you giving birth to a girl is a rarity.” Yin Qin muttered, “I suspect my second child will be another boy. We just don’t have the fate in our family...”
“Shut your mouth!” Qin Keqin’s voice was loud.
Yin Qin shivered slightly at her outburst.
“I’ve calculated it, it’s a girl.” Qin Keqin stated confidently.
Yin Qin was unconvinced.
“Actually, I rather like little boys.” Xin Zaozao said suddenly, “Boys are not as delicate.”
“Yes, they are not delicate. They just drive you crazy.” Qin Keqin said through gritted teeth.
Yin Qin felt that he was always the one getting hurt, no matter where he went.
“So, this is the baby?” Song Zhizhi asked, looking at the infant on the crib.
Though the baby’s facial features weren’t fully developed, her chubby cheeks were quite adorable.
“Yes.” Xin Zaozao smiled, “She was 6.6 jin when she was born.”
“She’s so cute.” Song Zhizhi picked up the baby.
Everyone also moved closer to take a look at the newborn.
Ji Baijian had also come that day; he was on a break and had followed Song Zhizhi over.
“Ji Baijian, aren’t you wishing for a daughter too?” Yin Qin couldn’t help but tease Ji Baijian when he saw him showing interest in the baby.
“No.” Ji Baijian was indifferent, “Not everyone prefers daughters.”
“You must be just sour because you don’t have a daughter.”
Ji Baijian ignored Yin Qin.
Unfazed, Yin Qin continued, “Didn’t we attend a wish-making charity event last time? I sneaked a peek at your wish box.”
Ji Baijian’s expression changed instantly.
Yin Qin was so childish, even at this age.
“I was wondering what kind of wish someone like you would have. It seemed like you already have everything you could ever want.”
It didn’t seem like an average person could handle her.
“Yin Qin.” Qin Keqin called her own son.
Yin Qin pursed his lips.
He said, “Alright, I won’t ask. What’s the relationship between you two?”
Didn’t Mu Cidian bring a wife to his wedding last time?
And now Xin Zaozao has given birth to a daughter for Mu Cidian.
This relationship was really messy.
“A lawful relationship.” Mu Cidian responded.
“What do you mean?”
“We got our marriage certificate.”
“What?!” Yin Qin exclaimed.
Not just Yin Qin.
Song Lifei was also astonished.
Was Mu Cidian this fast?
How on earth had Mu Cidian managed to win over Xin Zaozao?
He had always thought that Xin Zaozao would never marry Mu Cidian so easily. If they were to marry, it would take years, or possibly never.
But just in a few days, Mu Cidian had already secured their marriage certificate with Xin Zaozao?
Everyone looked at Mu Cidian, it’s safe to say, none of them believed it.
Mu Cidian opened a drawer in the ward and pulled out two marriage certificates.
Yin Qin eagerly took them.
Looking at them over and over, “Did you really get married?”
“Yes.” Mu Cidian nodded.
“Mu Cidian, how did you manage to do it? How did you get Xin Zaozao to marry you?” Yin Qin asked, “Don’t tell me it’s because of the baby, Xin Zaozao has never been a soft-hearted person.”
“The process isn’t important. What’s important is that we are now legally married.” Mu Cidian said. Then he glanced at his daughter. Even with just a glance, you could see his doting gaze, he said, “Our child is born legitimate.”
“I just want to say two words.” Yin Qin couldn’t help but exclaim, “Respect.”
He had always believed that Mu Cidian would end up with Xin Zaozao, but it seemed to be an incredible thing that they were really together.
What all had they been through?
“By the way, does the baby have a name yet?” Song ZhiZhi shifted the topic.
Fearing that if the conversation continued, Xin Zaozao might feel exceedingly awkward.
Everyone knew about the previous drama with Mu Cidian.
She had always insisted on not being with Mu Cidian, and now they were suddenly together. Regardless of the process...well you can imagine Mu Cidian must have played tricks–but the result is that both of them are now together. Surely Xin Zaozao would feel some level of embarrassment.
“Not yet.” Xin Zaozao replied, “We haven’t decided on a name yet.”
“Take your time.” Song Zhizhi responded with a smile, “When I gave birth to Lizhi, it took me a long time to come up with a good name. One day, a spark of inspiration just came suddenly, and I picked a name.”
“Mm.” Xin Zaozao smiled faintly.
Everyone stayed in the room for a while longer.
But because Zaozao had just given birth and needed more rest, everyone left soon afterward.
After they left, only Xin Zaozao and Mu Cidian were left in the room, along with the baby, a nanny, and a nurse. The room became much quieter all of a sudden.
After Xin Zaozao fed the baby, the baby fell asleep contentedly.
Mu Cidian took the baby from Xin Zaozao and gently put her in the crib, his eyes never leaving her.
Xin Zaozao also leaned on the head of the bed, her gaze fixed on the baby.
In the quiet room.
Mu Cidian suddenly said, “Let’s give the baby a name.”
Xin Zaozao’s eyes flickered slightly.
Mu Cidian said, “She should have a name.”
Xin Zaozao said, “It can’t be Mu.”
“Alright.” Mu Cidian nodded.
Without saying anything else, he agreed instantly.
Xin Zaozao’s throat moved slightly.
Mu Cidian never thought that the baby would carry his surname either.
Then he suddenly proposed, “How about Wanwan?”
“Hmmm?”
“Xin Wanwan.”
Xin Zaozao furrowed her brow.
“Zaozao and Wanwan...”
Just made up his... whole world.
