Chapter 420: 420: Change of Face, If You Do It, Do It Well (One More)
“So what are you afraid of?” Yin Qin asked Weng Cheng word by word.
“Do you really think business is a child’s play? Do you think a few random threats will provoke me to act rashly? Yin Qin, I advise you to know your place and not stir up trouble for no reason.”
“Director Weng, are you really worried about me stirring up trouble? Are you worried that the Milky Way, which you have just managed to control, will return to my hands?”
“Yin Qin, what are you talking about!” Weng Cheng abruptly stood up from his seat, appearing very angry.
“The Milky Way is a property of the Yin Family. Even though your mother’s surname was Yin, your surname is Weng. You are ultimately an outsider. Of course, I would not rule out your disloyalty to gain control of the Milky Way. But at least for now, you are still an outsider. Doesn’t it seem somewhat... unethical for such an outsider to monopolize our Milky Way?”
“Let me be clear, it was not my intention to seize it. All the directors support me because you are not capable! The Milky Way may be a property of the Yin Family, but it is also a profitable enterprise. Why should we entrust it to someone like you who will make it lose money? Is it fair to all the shareholders of the Milky Way, and to all its employees?”
“You speak as if you have justice on your side. Is it because you don’t want me to do anything in the Milky Way or is it an attempt to deliberately limit my authority?”
Weng Cheng’s face was visibly filled with anger.
This wastrel, he dared to blurt out anything.
Even Yin Bin would save face and not speak so bluntly. How dare Yin Qin, who was already in a disadvantageous position, act so brazenly?!
By arguing with Yin Qin, he was demeaning himself.
He said coldly, “If you don’t have the ability, don’t blame others for not trusting you.”
“You’ve already decided I don’t have the ability without me having done anything. Director Weng, don’t you think your words are contradictory?”
“When have I contradicted myself? Isn’t your incompetence well known to all...”
“Enough, I didn’t come here today to quarrel with you,” Yin Qin said flatly.
Weng Cheng’s eyes were bulging in anger.
Did he appear so uncivilized?
This wastrel, he really is so foolish?
“In all honesty, you don’t want me to manage the Milky Way, do you?” Yin Bin spoke candidly. Looking straight at Weng Cheng, he said, “You don’t want me to manage it, yet I own nearly half the shares in the Milky Way. Don’t you find your current position awkward?”
“What in the world do you want to say!” Weng Cheng’s teeth were clenched in anger.
“It’s very simple. A trade, a trade of shares.”
Weng Cheng’s brow furrowed.
In that moment, he was clearly tempted.
Yin Qin said, “I will put five percent of the shares as a bet. You must let me take full responsibility for the talent show of ‘Hall of Heaven’. If the final episode does not achieve a viewership rating of 2, I will gladly hand over my five percent of shares.”
As soon as the words came out, the entire room was startled.
Everyone knew that all talent shows were currently on a downward slide as there were too many and people were tired of them. ‘Hall of Heaven’ was just one of numerous talent shows, neither particularly good nor bad, it was mediocre. Its current viewership rating was only 0.5. To reach Yin Qin’s target would require a fourfold increase, raising its viewership rating to a level higher than the most popular variety show by 0.6. Looking at all the variety shows this year, none had reached this height. It was simply an absurd claim.
The conference room fell silent for a few seconds.
Someone laughed.
Their laugh was filled with irony.
Sure enough, he is a fool who knows nothing.
Was he just giving away the shares?!
Weng Cheng also laughed. He said, “Yin Qin, are you sure? I don’t want outsiders thinking that I, as your older brother, bullied you.”
“Of course, I’m sure.” Yin Qin said with a serious look on his face. “If I’m to do it, it has to be a big deal. What’s the point of doing something small! Without a daring spirit, great things cannot be accomplished!”
What idiocy!
Obviously, this was an extremely immature move. Clearly, he was a wastrel.
Yin Bin was indeed harming himself by letting his son take over his position!
He will squander his shares sooner or later.
Weng Cheng said, “In that case, since you want to show yourself off, and as Chairman, you want to contribute to the Milky Way, of course, we will give our full support. But let me be clear from the outset, if you fail to achieve what you have described, you must honor your promise.”
“Rest assured, I’ve got plenty of shares. Giving you five percent is nothing to me. It’s just a small favor.” Yin Qin didn’t care at all.
Weng Cheng scoffed.
Shares are slowly depleted. They don’t just disappear all at once!
He readily agreed, “Okay! The casting for ‘Hall of Heaven’ is now completely in your hands!”
“I have another requirement.”
“What is it?”
“I need to establish a new project group for the event! In other words, I want to decide who will be on the project team!”
Weng Cheng frowned, “I don’t want the show to fail in your hands!”
“If it’s a bet, we need to prepare for the worst-case scenario. If not, what’s the point of me doing this?”, Yin Qin raised his eyebrows.
Yin Qin, unperturbed, chewed a couple of times, “No.”
“You’re a grown man, and you’re snatching food from your mother!” Yin Bin was truly angry, no joke.
“My mother’s an adult, can’t she let me have a little bit?” Yin Qin observed casually.
“You’re a grown man, can’t you let your little sister eat more?!” Yin Bin glared.
Okay.
He couldn’t argue with this old man.
He spat out the fruit from his mouth and put it back on the plate, “Here you go.”
“You son of a rabbit! Aren’t you disgusted!” Yin Bin looked like he was about to explode.
“What do you want from me? I’m wrong if I eat, and I’m wrong if I don’t.” Yin Qin was displeased.
“Go wherever it’s cooler!” Yin Bin expressed his disgust.
Yin Qin rolled his eyes.
He got up and prepared to go upstairs, to go hold his little tiger.
Yin Bin suddenly remembered something, “You haven’t even finished work, why are you back?!”
“I had something to talk to you about.”
Yin Bin frowned.
“But you seem busy.” Yin Qin said lightly, “Find some time for me after you’re done. Oh, and just a reminder, don’t be so lovey-dovey, I’m afraid my sister in my mother’s stomach will... puke.”
Having said that, Yin Qin couldn’t help but laugh loudly and quickly went upstairs.
Yin Bin was so angry he was puffing and glaring.
Then he calmed down, declaring, “He’s just jealous.”
Qin Keqin was speechless.
She couldn’t even bring herself to argue with Yin Bin.
He was hovering around her all day, her daughter wasn’t throwing up, but she felt like she was going to.
Shouldn’t have agreed to this guy to start over.
This wasn’t starting over, this was inviting an unshakeable trouble, when would this end!
Yin Qin pushed open the door to Little Tiger’s room.
Luo Xiaolang had just finished feeding her, she looked at Yin Qin’s return, “You’re off work.”
“Yes. Let me hold Little Tiger.”
Luo Xiaolang handed Little Tiger to Yin Qin.
Yin Qin held him in his arms.
Little Tiger seemed to enjoy seeing his father, his little hands and feet fidgeting with joy.
He always thought Yin Qin was not a reliable person, but when it came to Little Tiger, he was exceptionally attentive. He might not care about everyday things, but he spent a lot of time holding and teasing him, so Little Tiger really liked him and was quite attached.
Yin Qin played with Little Tiger for a while, holding him in his arms, he said to Luo Xiaolang, “Xiaolang, I will be very busy soon, this may be the earliest time I will get home for a long time, regardless of weekends.”
Luo Xiaolang was surprised.
“Work stuff.” Yin Qin explained, without saying too much.
He thought Luo Xiaolang might not understand.
Luo Xiaolang nodded, “Mm.”
“In the future, I’ll have to rely on you to take care of Little Tiger.”
“Mm.” Luo Xiaolang continued nodding.
Actually, Luo Xiaolang was really obedient.
He used to think she was indifferent to the world and cold to everyone, but in fact, she was easier to get along with and more compromising than most people.
He even felt that for a long time, she would do whatever he said.
She was virtually unconditionally obedient to him.
His heart was inexplicably filled with tenderness.
With Little Tiger in his arms, he suddenly moved closer to Luo Xiaolang.
Luo Xiaolang’s eyes twitched slightly.
Just like a dragonfly touching the surface of water, it creates ripples in the moonlit lotus pond.
The wind stirs the clouds, setting off waves of ripples.
